This is a general cylinder misfire indication, not necessarily a component failure many of which, such as the coils, have separate codes. With the extension harness I disconect the O2 sensor in a much better place. The two front sensors are newish but not a manufacturer that I recognized. Tracking down a misfire can be time consuming and costly when unnessary components are replaced. However, you have to be very careful interpreting O2 sensor readings when dealing with misfires because they're completely dependent upon whether combustion is occurring or not.
Spark plug gap recommended on these engines is very wide. Replace if you find cracks, or if the coil does not produce a strong spark with a spark tester attached. That plastic is brittle on the assembly, is known to fracture, and can cause low fuel pressure. Check to see if you're getting enough spark from the Ignition Co … ntrol Module. Intake configuration From the data it appears that bank 1 is running rich and causing misfires on that bank. In order to count as a misfire, an event has to occur during a misfire check and have a certain acceleration profile, so the vast majority of events are not considered misfires even if they are being caused by one. Add to this the last ingredient and you get misfire.
Different firi … ng arrangements exist depending on the year. I had some similar problems, running lean, misfiring on only a few cylinders, misfires changing cylinders etc. See for any sparking on ignition wires on that or any other cylinder. Ford dealer wants to replace with rebuilt engine. You should not rule out t … he ignition coilpack ,try cleaning it for any residue on it. Oddly enough right after the tune up and replacement of parts, Car failed inspection only for emmisions. If the cylinder compression is legitimately ok then why in the world would they recommend a rebuilt engine? It was not an easy job pulling the motor, but not the first sohc engine swap I have done. The misfire and bad idele still exsist and im looking at takeing it to someone who is a little more savey than i, ive been hopeing its somthing as simple as a bad sensor being that the check engine light is on.
