This truck has been well taking care of and maintenance regularly. The contact stated that upon starting the ignition, a loud noise emitted from the engine. New engines cost more than the suv is worth When engine was inspected after it was removed there was considerable rust on top of engine where water had been standing Have been religious about service every 3000 miles and have all invoices since purchased from same dealership so service was not the cause of this demise Talked to Brandi Dodgechat and she said they were sorry for my problems but have a good day! I am not a mechanic, so I would change the oil and did what I was told to do by my mechanic. The dealer did not mention a hydraulic issue. The only one that work on this vehicle was the Dodge dealership. I went out to start it the day after to take my kids somewhere. It struggles to idle and dies.
We bought it and started installing it. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer for a diagnostic. When will something be done about this. I am waiting for a class action suit to be filed. This creates a very dangerous driving condition- for myself and those vehicles around me. Still waiting to see what cost to replace engine, so not sure what decision will be made to fix or replace.
Hmmm is this the government related to these car companies?? On the interstate, at 4 a. With replacing the intake, and all the other parts that needed replacing it came to around 7000 dollars which with the mileage and condition is just about what the whole thing is worth blue book. When I first bought it I took it through a car wash and it stalled and shut down wouldn't start but then we got it started and didn't have any issues. Started it up and it threw a rod through the motor and oil all over the ground. There will be 5x 13mm bolts on the bottom holding two coolers on.
File a complaint with them. The car was parked inside of our garage when not in use. Thank you again for giving attention to my concern. The contact stated while attempting to pull out of a lane to pass another vehicle, there was a loud knocking noise. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic for diagnosis, who stated that there was a blown engine rod and piston. Most places stated that dealers were ordering this in bulk.
If driving and it rains this may cause an accident if the truck turns off while driving. I dropped from 72 mph to 0 in a matter of seconds and barely had enough momentum to pull the truck to the side of the road. Others are aware of the cowl issue as we had to wait almost five weeks for it to arrive. The manufacturer was notified of the problem. Additionally, the vehicle would hesitate to engage when the brakes were applied. I contacted Dodge and they assured me that they knew of no problems with these vehicles.
In 2011 our '04 Hemi Durango threw a 1 piston rod. The contact mentioned that the check engine warning light illuminated. Came out next morning went to start it and heard loud bang. The symptoms are exactly the same Shuddering or rough idling and stalling during rain, water pouring over the top of the engine because of the piss poor cowling, etc. This car had regular maintenance and had the oil changed recently.
The vehicle was towed to our home and sits in the drive. I noticed after I had the car for 3 years the engine did not sound normal, but what do I know? As he was looking underneath he discovered it was now leaking oil. This needs immediate attention before someone gets hurt or killed. Rod snapped, and put major hold in engine. Looked under the vehicle and found small pieces of metal on the ground. The contact stated that the vehicle was parked and would not start. I hope something can be done to correct this very serious issue.
The manufacturer was notified of the failure. More than likely bent rod!!! He took a look and informed us we had thrown a rod and complete engine replacement would be needed. We went to Advanced Auto and had them check the battery- but they said the battery was great. Today, warm engine, started in parking lot and immediately blew out a connecting rod thru the block. The dealer said it was most likely the check valve in the oil pump.
